North Carolina’s 26 independent electric cooperatives
sponsor the Bright Ideas grant program. These cooperatives
have maximum grant amounts ranging from $1,000 to $3,000, with most being in the $2,000 range.
To find out how much you are eligible to receive and which
electric cooperative is sponsoring your school, search for
your school by clicking on the link below.
When applying, teachers should only ask for the amount they
need to successfully administer a project. Be sure to
include accurate estimated costs for the project, showing
exactly how the money will be spent in the budget portion of
your Bright Ideas application.
In order to allow more teachers to benefit from the Bright
Ideas program, partial funding of a project may be awarded
and is up to your sponsoring cooperatives’ discretion.
